Derek Gift
Transportation Coordinator
Derek has worked with various aspects of supply management for more than 20 years. Throughout this time, he has gained experience in several areas.
Several years were spent coordinating a multi-unit, inventory management staff. Aside from management of day-to-day operations, Derek collaborated with inventory controllers, analyzed reports, and helped manage projects.
During his years as a buyer and account manager, Derek procured food and other food preparation supplies for either warehousing or immediate distribution between five kitchens that provided three meals daily for 4,000 staff members. His duties also included researching cost saving strategies, managing supply planning projects, conducting quarterly business reviews, and negotiating master distribution agreements.
All of this experience has also allowed Derek work on his true passion: work as a trainer, a mentor, and a teacher. He enjoys doing so, both in areas of technical and process documentation, as well as in helping others with personal development.
